Flowering Season: Flowering appears during March-April. February is the month of early flowering in many regions.
Fruiting Season: Fruiting in this bahar starts from June, and it can be seen till the month of September.

(4). Insect-pest of Ambe Bahar
4.1.1. Fruit fly: The fruit fly or Bactrocera dorsalis is a very harmful pest of guava during monsoon season. The infested fruits rot and fall down.
4.1.2. Guava mealy scale: The attack of guava mealy scale (Chloropulvinaria psidii) can be seen during active shoot growth stage or flowering stage in spring season. Severe infestation can cause killing of branches.
4.2. Disease of Ambe Bahar
1. Fruit rot: It is caused by fungus. The fungus attacks trees, twigs and branches during rainy season, and the mature fruits are more prone to disease attack.

(5). Crop Regulation
The winter season crop is superior in quality, but the rainy season crop is inferior in quality due to severe attack of fruit fly in rainy season. To get only winter season crop, some practices has to be taken, and this is called guava crop regulation.
Crop regulation practices are as follows:
5.1. Spray urea @ 10% (10-12 lit. each tree) during May when maximum flowers are opened.
5.2. Use Nepthalene Acetic Acid @ 600 ppm (10-12 lit. each tree), if urea is not available.
5.3. Pruning of terminal portions of the shoots up to 20 – 25 cm after the first fortnight April. It helps in avoiding rainy season crop, completely.
5.4. Inorganic fertilizers are applied during the month of June.
5.5. Step 4 encourages growth in July-August for getting maximum flowering during August-September for winter season crop.
