Floriculture

Floriculture is a subject in horticulture. It is a major subject in horticulture (horticulture and landscape gardening) and, a minor subject for the students of other subjects/faculties. One who completes his digree in the field of this particular subject, is known as floriculturist.

Definition

According to Wikipedia– “Floriculture, or flower farming, is a discipline of horticulture concerned with the cultivation of flowering and ornamental plants for gardens and for floristry, comprising the floral industry.”

Floriculture is a science of cultivation of ornamental flower plants/crops and disease management. It is the technology of cultivation, crop management, harvesting, storage/presentation and marketing of economically important flower plants/crops.
