5.1 Required Structure and Materials
Tank: Water tank is main structure.
Pipe: Main and subsidiary pipes.
Water Source: Bore well, pond, well, canal.
Water Lifting Pump: Diesel pump, tullu pumps.
5.2.1 Selection of land for Farm: Selection of land area for farm is important. Land should be plain. Uneven land is not suitable fuel for GDIS.
5.2.2 Layout: Square or circle.
5.2.3 Marking for tank: Maximum distance of the last point of selected land from the centre point (DRIP) is 20-30 metre. Tank should be installed at the centre of the field.
5.2.4 Establishing System
(a). Connecting source of water to water tank: Water tank is connected with main source of water using strong water pipe. It is permanent. In this situation an steel pipe is used.
(b). Connecting main pipe to water tank: Main pipes are connected with water tank. Four outlet (one outlet each side of tank) are fixed with the main pipes.
(c). Connecting subsidiary pipes to main pipe: Establishment of subsidiary pipe is most important thing for the uniform distribution of water among the plants. Length of subsidiary pipes and distance between two subsidiary pipes greatly affect the uniform distribution of water. Two combinations are possible:
(1). Length can be shorten for some crops if row to row distance is very close.
(2). Length can be extended if row to row distance is more.

Fill the water tank with water at evening or any time. Now open the outlet of water tank.
Outlet is closed after irrigation.
